@Amy Hale: Welcome Amy! I hope you'll find some good advice about your thesis project. One possible source of ideas is The Volunteer Monitor; I just posted about that on the website and many issues of it are available for download.
@Sterling Kinnell: Near as I can tell (and others, via this Flickr pic), the beetle is genus Capnochroa in the Tenebrionidae family. Found it on the trail at Sapsucker Woods. It was quite friendly, posing and all :-).
@Jennifer Forman Orth: Okay Jennifer, what is that beetle you've selected to represent yourself? Is it friend or foe?
@georgia b wright: Welcome Georgia! Hope to see you on Hawk Hill soon...I can't believe the season is nearly upon us already!
@Brian Sullivan: Hi Brian -- nice to see you here! Birded Sapsucker Woods this morning! It's way green here...
@Russ Chadwick: Hi Russ! Thanks for joining! I met Nolan Doesken yesterday and he said he knows you. (They also ran us out of the auditorium here for a tornado warning...pretty exciting!)
@Christina Sloop: Hi Christina - thanks for joining the network! I love the citizen science work that the Laguna Foundation is doing!
@Cynthia Enderlein: Thanks for joining, Cynthia! Hope to be seeing you on Hawk Hill soon, too!
I'm having a new logo created for CitizenSci.com and I've used the first version here. I'm getting a revised version that's somewhat based on this, so that will be updating soon. What do you think of it?
